Book Press, 22" x 15.5" Larger Format Flat Plate Book Press, Mapletop, Poly-Finish, Item 212-1

Item # 212-1 is a 22” wide x 15-1/2 Deep” Larger Format Economical Book Press for pressing flat books, note pads, or similar items. With a 22” x 13-1/4” working area between the posts, there is lots of room to press 11” x 17” page work – and larger.

Each plate is made from ¾” (18mm) Maple Top plywood. The bottom plate also has two (2) runners glued and screwed along the long side to add rigidity and strength for the bolt heads. Supplied finely sanded then finished with multiple layers of water based Polyurethane. (For a less poly finish version, please inquire). The 6-inch long bolts also give a total opening height of 4-1/4” minimum (with full nut engagement), so thick or multiple works can be pressed flat at the same time. The table is 22” wide x 15-1/2” deep.

The soft feel oversized knobs can be easily spun down holding everything firmly in place with minimal effort. No fighting with wing nuts or small knobs & hurting your fingers trying to get proper clamping pressure. A total of six (6) bolts with knobs allow for uniform clamping over this larger area.

Overall nominal dimensions: 22” wide x 15-1/2” deep x 6-1/2” high (top of bolt). Six plated 6” Long 5/16” diameter carriage bolts are seated into recesses in the lower platen. The top platen is pressed down by using six over-sized 2-1/2” diameter polypropylene knobs with metal thread inserts for extra ease in clamping down tightly. Stainless Steel washers help spread the pressure from the knobs. Longer or shorter bolts are available - please contact us for availability, or you may source them yourself from hardware store.

Press is shipped un-assembled and requires light assembly of carriage bolts to plate, but no tools are needed.
