Book Press 14.5" x 14.5" (368x368mm) Flat Plate Book Press, Birch or Maple Top, Poly Finish, Item 211-1

Item # 211-1 is a 14-1/2” wide x 14-1/2” (368 x 368mm) economical Book Press for pressing flat books, note pads, or similar items with a 12” x 12” (305 x 305mm) working area between the posts, giving lots of room to press books. We have improved the hole locations by using CNC equipment for exacting alignment of all components – and added a nice engraved logo to each plate in an out of the way place just to spiff things up a bit.

Made from Birch and/or Maple top plywood, smooth sanded, with three coats of water based polyurethane finish applied. (For an un-finished version, see Item # 211-2) The extra-long bolts also give a total opening height of 4” (101mm), so thick or multiple stacks can be pressed flat at the same time. The table is 14-1/2” deep, but longer materials can be used as there is no depth restriction.

The soft feel oversized knobs can be easily spun down holding everything firmly in place with minimal effort. No fighting with wing nuts & hurting fingers trying to get proper clamping pressure. Overall nominal dimensions: 14-1/2” wide x 14-1/2” deep x 6” (152mm) high (top of bolt). Four plated 5/16-18 x 6” carriage bolts are threaded into steel thread inserts in the lower platen. The top platen is pressed down by using four oversized 2-1/2” (63mm) diameter polypropylene knobs with metal thread inserts for extra ease in clamping down tightly.
